Ara Pacis Museum & Memorial, Trajan's Market, Rome, Italy: Site plan, Elisabeth Machielse
The first stage of the project took place during a field trip to Rome, Italy to study the Ara Pacis Augustae (13 BCE-14 CE), to identify and to document and analyze alternative sites for the relocation of the museum. Case studies of memorials and monuments were made in ARCH 4110: Geometry in Architecture, a theory course co-requisite with the design studio.
